OMNICHANNEL WAREHOUSING ISSUE FOR MID-SIZE FIRMS

Omnichannel warehousing creates a dilemma for many mid-size firms.  The usual configuration is to fill the cube of the warehouse.  That is what manufacturers and others do.  E-commerce is not a vertical/cube issue.  It is horizontal--fills floor space for inventory, rollers/conveyors, packaging, etc.  That requires segmenting warehouse space to fit two different stocking and shipping requirements in a fixed warehouse footprint.
