IN-TRANSIT INVENTORY AND OPPORTUNITY COST

Retailers. Manufacturers. Include inventory in transit in turns or days of inventory calculations.  That can be a significant number and should not be excluded. Otherwise there is an understatement of the inventory investment—and the opportunity cost.
