SOLAS VGM--WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFICATION
Per SOLAS VGM rule-- The IMO Guidelines are clear that the shipper named on the ocean carrier bill of lading is the party responsible for providing the container’s verified gross mass. While this relates to co-loaded containers, it does seem to set the basis for any container from a forwarder and the master bill of lading.
