CONTAINER LINE SCHEDULE RELIABILITY--A GOOD METRIC?
What does measuring container line schedule reliabilty tell shippers? It excludes canceled sailings and rolled containers. It is based on slow steaming. It is only port-port. So for Supply Chain Management is it a valid metric? Or a vanity metric for carriers?
UPS FEDEX DHL AND E-COMMERCE DELIVERY DEMANDS
Can and will UPS, FedEx, and DHL step up their performance to keep up with escalating e-commerce customer expectations with order-delivery velocity? It is time to double down.
BLOCKCHAIN FOR INTERNATIONAL QUESTION
International trade, import, export. With each buy/sell, are we talking blockchain singularity--one blockchain with many diverse stakeholders and
participants? Or are there multiple blockchains dealing with multiple transactions for buy, logistics, customs, etc? If multiple, then for validity, big issue is integration. The bigger issue, and need, is integrating financial and
product supply chains. End to end is the
requirement.

INVESTORS IN LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN TECHNOLOGY
Many stories of investors in logistics and supply chain technology. Logistics and SCM are drivers in the economy, both US and global. Thanks much to e-commerce. Do investors understand underlying fundamentals of logistics & SCM e-commerce? A strategy? Or jumping on a bandwagon?
TINKERING WITH SUPPLY CHAINS
Some retailers and manufacturers confuse tinkering with their Supply Chains instead of transforming them for e-commerce success. And it shows.
TRYING TO COPY AMAZON'S SUPPLY CHAIN THAT DRIVES E-COMMERCE SUCCESS
A struggle of many retailers and manufacturers when it comes to trying have e-commerce success without the supply chain to drive it. Trying to copy Amazon. You cannot copy what you do not understand.
SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT IS STRATEGIC
How
much of the struggles that retailers and manufacturers have with e-commerce
supply chain transformation reflects their unwillingness to accept supply chain
management as strategic. Stuck in their ways?

IoT LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
Greater technological connectivity such as IoT requires a backup of service based on supply chain management and logistics. That requirement must have end-to-end supply chain velocity.
CONTAINER LINES AND THE IRREVERSIBLE SUPPLY CURVE
With mega ships, their capital investment, the need to fill larger volumes on them, the potential increase in service commoditization with alliance and large ships, and customer needs for faster sailings of select, lower volumes, have container lines created their own inverse relationship and economic irreversible supply curve at both the micro and macro levels? Is it then a future of marginal pricing with supply exceeding demand and shifting break even points? What do you think?
WHOLESALERS DISTRIBUTORS DISINTERMEDIATION
With
the increased likelihood of manufacturers selling direct online, what is the
future of distributors/wholesalers? What are they doing to counter the
potential of disintermediation? Have they transformed their supply chains
to provide order-delivery velocity and end-to-end supply chain velocity? If
many answers are “nothing”, why?

TECHNOLOGY AND LEAN SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
How will technology fit in and drive Lean Supply Chain Management? Especially with outside the four walls and the biggest waste challenge--the global/international supply chain.
FUTURE OF CATALOG RETAILING?
With all the wringing of hands on the future of store retail, what is the future of catalog selling with their limited fulfillment network, that impact on order dlivery velocty, and the underlying lack of end-to-end supply chain velocity?

SUPPLY CHAIN AND LOGISTICS TRANSFORMATION--AND THEN DEVOLUTION?
The end of commoditized Supply Chain Management and logistics services is a positive of the disruption and transformation. Until--yes, the until, they stop transforming and devolve back to commodity services. The speed of the leaders is interesting, as is the slowness of laggards.

COULD USPS SHAKE UP THE E-COMMERCE DELIVERY MARKET?
What could USPS do to e-commerce logistics if it set up and operated an end-to-end online delivery service--and not just a door delivery service as now? With their office network. Could it shake up UPS and FedEx as providers?
UNSPOKEN LOGISTICS TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGE
With the attention on logistics technology as a disruptor and transformer, there is an unspoken challenge. Logistics technology and the many players and stakeholders
doing different things. Technology alone is not enough. A key issue with technology is integration--among stakeholders and players.

A REAL REASON RETAILERS AND MANUFACTURERS STRUGGLE WITH AMAZON
Amazon did not create e-commerce. They did what any retailer or manufacturer could have done--but did not--because of myopia. BigA is not limiting itself because of logistics costs from 100+ year old accounting practices--they focus on the supply chain. Fresh thinking. Not trying to imitate.

ASIA E-COMMERCE OPPORTUNITY
Next? Hello. That train has already left the station. Try to catch up and jump aboard.

FUTURE OF RETAIL
The future of retail—actually should call it selling with omnichannel—is a hybrid of bricks and clicks built on market/product category/product and supply chain segmentation. The one size fits all Retail model and its Supply Chain model are dead. Three cheers for fresh thinking and the end of homogenized and commoditized retailing.
AMAZON 2017 FINANCIALS
Not bad results for a leader. And you do not hear Amazon talking about #LastMile #logistics costs. A Hmmmm moment.

MORE E-COMMERCE LOGISTICS / LAST MILE OBSESSION
Focusing on logistics Last Mile is misdirection of the real issue, the New Supply Chain to meet Customer Expectations. That is how to compete with the gorilla.
