I think there is a great opportunity to take multichannel global. It will be done in steps depending on customs and
other regulations. But it is
coming. The question is how will
companies go after and achieve it? Using
the same old-same old practices? Or by adapting to
the new supply chain paradigm that we see?
Too many companies have visions of such businesses but no vision on how to
use supply chain management to achieve it.
That is why I say same-old. Ecommerce and multichannel are exactly about
supply chain management--PERIOD.
Amazon and few others will likely play in the new
supply chain global multichannel business.
Others will try to emulate it by trying to copy what the others do. Those who copy will struggle.
