UPSTREAM SUPPLY CHAIN AND EXCESS INVENTORY
Much of the excess inventory and working capital carried by manufacturers & retailers is in the Upstream Supply Chain. That is where the longest time is in the end-to-end Supply Chain for sourcing and logistics. Longer time is more inventory buffer. Yet attention is on the downstream part.
