The B2B e-commerce industry—estimated by Forrester Research Inc. at $855 million in the United States alone this year—is covered in detail in the 2017 edition of the B2B E-Commerce 300, launched today.
The 380-page digital edition and online database—from Vertical Web  Media, the publisher of Internet Retailer and its sister publication, B2BecNews—ranks 300 B2B companies by their annual web sales, and profiles each of their business operations and use of e-commerce technology.
Jack Love, publisher of Vertical Web Media, says the B2B E-Commerce 300 is designed to help businesses keep up with the surging growth of business-to-business e-commerce, which Forrester projects will surpass $1 trillion the U.S. by 2019. “B2B e-commerce is already twice as large as retail e-commerce, and the B2B E-Commerce 300 is a unique tool for helping business executives keep abreast of that growth—with all its challenges and opportunities,” Love says.
Combined electronic sales for the 300 companies listed in the B2B E-Commerce 300 are up 14.6% from the figures posted in the 2016 edition, to $633.1 billion from $552.3 billion.

Love says the B2B E-Commerce 300 is designed to provide insight into how companies are handling the complexities of B2B e-commerce, where orders can run into many thousands, even millions of dollars. Manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers sell products ranging from raw materials, to complex electronics and complex machinery, and their buyers face pressures to purchase the right products in the right quantities and at the right price so their companies will operate properly.
Successful B2B e-commerce sites, he adds, must offer online business buyers the help they need in quickly finding products and processing orders. “The pages of the B2B E-Commerce 300 provides insight into the methods and technologies used by the largest players in B2B e-commerce,” Love says.
The B2B E-Commerce 300 is available in two formats: a 380-page digital edition priced at $199, and an interactive, customizable and web-accessible database version that sells for $375 at Top500Guide.com.
